Our Chiropractic Techniques
Dr. Soliman is trained in a number of highly effective adjustment techniques. She may utilize a combination of these techniques as part of your customized treatment plan. The chiropractic adjustment is designed to restore spinal alignment, increase joint mobility and reduce nerve irritation allowing the body to heal itself naturally.
Types of adjustment techniques we use:
- Diversified Technique: This is the most widely used technique in the chiropractic profession. Diversified adjusting uses a specific high velocity, low amplitude manual thrust to the involved joint. This technique often results in a cavitation ( or popping noise) of the treated joint. The diversified technique can be to adjust the spine and many other joints of the body (i.e. wrist, elbow, ankle, foot).
- Thompson Technique: This is a specific technique that uses a special table with several segmented drop pieces. The specialized drop pieces assist in the thrust of the adjustment, reducing the amount of force required for the adjustment. With this technique cavitation of the joint (popping noise) may or may not occur.
- Flexion/Distraction: This is a gentle chiropractic treatment technique utilizing hands on treatment along with a special table allowing the spine to be tractioned and flexed forward. This technique is an effective treatment for patients with low back dysfunction, sciatica, lumbar disc herniation.
- Activator Method®: This technique utilizes a hand-held spring-loaded adjustment instrument which delivers a gentle, precise, fast-thrust, low-force chiropractic adjustment. Activator technique uses specific protocols to detect spinal misalignments.
- Palmer Package: It is a system of chiropractic care taught by Palmer College of Chiropractic. The main techniques include Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, and Toggle Recoil.
